Some more Art - Lilith

Lilith has been, (so far) the only one of my models to threaten me if I did not get the likeness right. Years ago when I was doing a series of illustrations of Demons her name came up on my shortlist.

She said to me: "My picture aught to be as beautiful as I am ... and it had better be". Needless to say under that sort of pressure I messed it up. The first picture I did was fine right up until I drew the face. Then it all went horribly wrong and the result was horrific. Three nights of waking up from nightmares feeling like I had been beaten by a baseball bat later I was shown this picture in my mind.

I was so happy and relieved, she merely said that it was about time I got it right and something that I didn't quite catch but I believe to be along the lines of : "If you want something done right you have to do it yourself".
