Naughtiness at school 'points to failure in life'

But of course we should let the wee darlings get away with raising hell in schools!
Don't stifle their creative exhuberance!

REALLY!? Hmmm ....

Children who badly misbehave in school are likelier to end up with a bad job, poor mental health, teen pregnancy or divorce, according to a British study.

The paper, published online by the British Medical Journal (BMJ), provides statistical backing for teachers who sound warnings about anti-social behaviour.

It draws on an exceptionally long-term investigation, launched among 3652 Britons who were born in 1946. With their consent, these volunteers have been monitored at occasional intervals since their birth, filling in questionnaires about their health, family and professional life.

At the ages of 13 and 15, this group was assessed by their teachers, who were asked to grade their behaviour as having severe, mild or no conduct problems.

A total of 9.5 percent of the teenagers were identified as having severe problems, 28.8 percent had mild problems and 61.7 percent no problems.

Forty years later, the followup inquiry found a clear link between misbehaviour at school and difficulties in adult life.

"Adolescent misconduct might adversely affect developing social behaviours and result in pervasive social and mental health difficulties throughout adult life," the paper suggests.

Compared with those with no conduct problems at school, those who severely misbehaved were twice as likely to become a parent before the age of 20; likelier to get divorced or have relationship problems with spouses, children or friends; four times likelier to leave school with no qualifications, and twice as likely to be in a manual job or unemployed.

Problems in life also extended, but to a lesser degree, to those with milder forms of misbehaviour.

Males accounted for 62.6 percent of those with severe behavioural problems at school and 54.8 percent of those with mild problems.

If the father had a manual job, this too was a major factor among teenagers in these categories.

The study is led by Ian Colman, an assistant professor of public health at the University of Alberta, Canada.

Colman says the study provides a useful guide for focussing resources to help teenagers whose behaviour could prove costly both to themselves in adulthood, and to society.

He admits that the study has some limitations — there are no data to explain why children misbehaved, for instance.

On the other hand, he argues the teachers' assessment was a good indicator of a child's risk of delinquency, and a better guide than the parents' own assessment.

Stevestory - It is LIKE History but it isn't ACTUALLY History

(For those of you who are the senistive sorts:

a) What are you doing here in the first place!
b) It's called "Satire" - look it up.)

Stevestory - A History of Modern Witchcraft

Lemme tell you a tale - a tale of events
Y’see there were some ladies and then some gents
A prudish time where marriage was met
To get it together and get the end wet.

Without libido the church was just fine
And “rubbin the uglies” out of wedlock a crime.
But some lads were still as lustful as hell
And thought well dipping often – the mark of a swell

Abnormally randy – “odd fellows” indeed
This lot were just itchin’ to spread out some seed
But how to achieve it? With manners they learned
Lust with gentility so as not to be spurned

Perhaps invent magic and false mystery
“Woodies” with manners – a “woodcraft chivalry”?

All through the land they plied up their trade
Preying on simple folk - who were often afraid.
Of witches, to rid them on land or on seas
Damnable bitches who’d fuck where they please!

Harridans and harpies, due to church bent
With lust in their hearts, were all hell sent!
They’d long since known how to get ‘round a wedding
Without realizing – a dangerous precedent setting.

Ill humoured ‘bout this, was many a man
And so upon them blamed many a jam.
And now they found they had competition
So to rid us of them became a great mission!

(Since then we’ve heard and adapted;
‘bout women, who refused by men to be captured.
Queen Vic’s word on all this settled a score
And so we say now witches man never saw!)

So revise a history - of witches were none,
After all using that word – it just wasn’t done!
The story won’t ruin or forfeit the booin’,
Instead lets continue bout those lads with the dong.

Back to those chaps with a sexual bent,
(Often both ways we are to consider that meant)
Of peaches AND beef many were fond,
To conduct those rites used many a wand!

Often men of learning - oo they were smart.
Yes they had to be CUNNING to excel in this art!
But before ‘ere long the witches ran out.
and without witches, cunning men soon lose their clout!

So back to the drawing board - what to try next?
Much effort is needed to stay over sexed!
Reinvent the terrors - the ones from before
But this time with grades and oaths to be swore!

A simple side swapping will keep us ahead
And leave the theorists awake or else dead!
Is there a difference? Make one up for finding
Such an existence will keep them all blinding

The difference before we’ll say evermore
(Not a jot – that’s what scholars are for!)
Buds of the young aye this we most prize
Cause wives for swapping would be needed elsewise!

We’ll “bend them like Beckham” and between those thighs,
Stroke for stroke with cherubic sighs,
Plant a seed to change wicked
(Amongst the “unknickered”)
From cunning to wise and
(oh what a surprise!)

We’ll backdate it all – to time immemorial!
Well peppered with names and dates most historical!
We’ll cause to arise a brand new gentry
whose fellowship (based entirely on entry),
Will cause them to be opposed - mostly by atheists
With arguments favoured most by only the laziest!

Again all will be needed is a few dozen books,
A few dozen scholars plying just the right looks.
Nose tapping, guffawing – deriding it all,
For them and their favoured ‘till be quite a ball!
So sidle up, join up, gather the fruit
(Don’t mind my hand … just guarding the loot!)

Because to join they were not allowed,
We can be quite sure they views will be soured.
They’ll attack and they’ll rail – accuse and complain,
While all of the while they’ll become just the same!

So fear not and cry not my accused young sons,
Already the plan to boot up their bums,
Is laid and unfolds - to fruition it comes!
From cloisters, come witches dressed up as nuns!

And when by their stances they’ve become just like us,
We’ll reinvent again, without any fuss!
Another side swap – we’ll move in with them
And then with their total approval – start all over again!
